This quasi-sophomore effort from Jesse Dee & Jacquie B works as a follow up and a debut because of one man, Matt Blackie, the percussionist who rounds out this Edmonton pop trio. With song lengths averaging five minutes apiece, this 10-tune set can get bloated at times, but the melodies of Wake Me Up and opener Erehwon are enough to keep you interested. The production is crisp and a little hollow at times, but it’s no big deal due to the competent vocal performances. The proof is in the hooks, which are lazy (in a good way) but catchy as heck.
